I have always been using the magnetic fuel filters on my other cars with the difference that they were ordinary, low power cars. When I asked for my mechanic's advice on installing this filter on RX-8, he adviced me not to do so because this car has a very high pressure (~4 bars) and that could cause the cheap plastic enclosure of the filter to explode. Does anyone have experience with magnetics on rx-8? and if yes, what type?

how hard is it to replace the fuel filter? I see it is important in the owners manual but i think in this forum it's overlooked.
