Loose Plug Wire

I just changed my plugs today. When I was putting the plug wires back on I noticed the leading plug wire on the front of the engine isn't grabbing the plug like it should. If I let it go stays in place, but it never "clicks." Obviously I know I need to replace the wires, but for now whats the solution? I'll have to order the wires.

Can you just take a pair of pliers and squeeze the boot to make it fit better? Any tips? Thanks!

Are you twisting the boot back and forth while pushing in?
There have been times I never heard/felt the click, so I reference the other connections to see if the spark plug's ceramic is equally visible.
If you see more ceramic with the "questionable" wire, you know its not on completely.
And do not use pliers on the boot with it still attached to the spark plug.

You can take pliers to the wire but make sure it is off the plug. it is just a temp. fix though.

That's a needle nose to be specific.

And be careful if you decide to squeeze it a little bit with needle nose. Actually, squeeze the boot just a pinch at a time with it off the plug!
