Lights don't flash on alarm arm/disarm..
Guys,
In the last week, my lights stopped flashing when the alarm arms/disarms.
Checked that all the lights do work, also the horn does sound, so I am at a loss what to look for next.
Any quick thoughts (especially anyone with a wiring diagram?) so I don't need to leave "My Precious" at the shop...
Thanks
Rick

Check your trunk. If either door, the hood, or the trunk is ajar, the alarm will not arm although the doors will still lock.
I had the same thing happen to me, and it turned out that I must've popped the trunk without realising it, probably by pressing the wrong button on the remote.

Trust me, I had exactly the same symptoms. It seems that the beep merely confirms that the doors are locked, while the flash indicates that the alarm is armed.

You're most welcome.
This is actually one of the things I hope they fix on next year's model - because the trunk doesn't swing open of its own accord, it's all too easy to be driving around with the lid not secured. There really ought to be some form of warning on the dash.

Hey all:
Thought I'd chime in here. I had a very unusual thing happen to me on Sunday. I went to lock my doors and every time I did, the alarm (read that as panic) went off...lights flashing and horn blowing. I checked the trunk, it was closed. I could hear the locks locking when I hit the key fob. Come to find out after some troubleshooting, I find my lock level on the driver's door "pulled" out further than usual. Usually the lock lever angles out showing that the door is unlocked. What was happening when I went to lock and arm the car, the door tried locking itself and could not so it set the alarm (panic) off. I just pushed the lock lever back to its original position and all is good.
Just something I'd thought I'd pass along to everyone if this should ever happen to them.
