L-reflash G-tech results
I got my RX-8 reflashed with the infamous L reflash.. here's there G-tech results.
Runs # 0 & 1 were from November 2003, and were some of my best runs to date.
Runs # 2 & 3 are with the L-reflash. It's definately faster, however my lack of intimacy with my RX-8 over it's garaged winter has reduced my quickness and made my shift points much less reliable. I plan to get out there again next week and try some more to see what can be done about it.
Definitely, I've noticed that there is a bigger rush of power around 4500 to 6000 rpm, but at the same time, the power above 7500 rpm has deminished..
Reagrds,

i think what we need here as a sort of real guage of how the flash has affected the car is a comparison of long gear pulls (like 1500 - 9000 in 2nd gear) where you're not shifting at all, taking driving skill and conditions out of it entirely. as long as it's along the same road (to account for immesurable slope) you'll get more comparable results (noting things like tempurature and humidity, gasoline used, stuff like that).

I tested 0-60 after the L flash with my g-tech and it was four tenths slower. In every day driving it seems more responsive, but the pull at high revs is weaker. After the flash it was quicker at the start but took 2 seconds to go from 50-60. Before it was slooow to get going but closed with a rush.
Overall I am happy with the L flash. I am too old to race and the car now feels faster in normal driving situations.

Your trap speeds seem better, but your 60' times have gone down a little, maybe it is the lack of launching practice. So you sacrifice top range for midrange. I think it would be interesting to compare dynos, like take it before you go to the dealership, and then take it after you have come back from the dealership. One thing I am interested about is the HP/Time curve, to see if L makes it rev faster. I can' really tell much from the tiny little graph i can see

First tank on the L flash with my auto, and I just got 22 mpg.
Before I attribute it to the L flash, I also filled up with 87 for the first time. With 4K on the car, I have always used 91, but tried the 87 just before the flash on a half tank. Hard to say what made the difference, but I have always got around 18 - 20 MPG.
This is the best MPG to date for my car.
I have tested the first gen G-tech before the L flash and netted 122 hp on below 80mph on three runs (the only runs). I will test the car soon with the L flash.
