It's possible. That was even the solution in an old Gus Wilson story in Popular Science. (Anyone besides me old enough to remember those?) But it's pretty unlikely with today's ignition switches, which are way more solid than the old pre-steering lock switches.

hm, I run the switchblade key with four work keys and three house keys. and a spare bike key. and a mini library card. and sometimes a led light. ****, i have an 04 and everythings fine.
this thread reminds me though, I should graphite all my key holes pretty soon just as a precaution...

Aside from putting an unnecessary strain on the switch, it just bugs the crap out of me to have a mass of swinging, jingling metal bouncing around through turns and bumps. Jingle-bells are for sleighs, not cars!

Actually......
Much depends on how many keys you have on your ring..
I have seen Ignition Switches that stuff up, get sloppy because there is too much weight swinging.
LESS IS BETTER...
