My son has a 2004 RX8 that has 2 Keys and 2 Key Fobs. The Key Fobs stopped working and I put New Batteries in both and when I tested them at AutoZone, both of them barely made a flicker on the testing machine. I tried my Corvette key Fob and it the tester lit up brightly. Hmmm? Could both KeyFobs go bad at the same time?? I could see a button not working but both remotes dead? I've tried Reprograming by doing the following. Hope I got it right but I have a feeling its not going to work if the KeyFob won't pass the Fob Tester machine. Any suggestions would help me from Crushing these two remotes.

1-Open drivers door and leave open.
2-Insert Key into Ignition
3-Using Door switch, Lock and UnLock doors
4-Turn Ignition Key from Lock to Run position 3 times within 10secs
5-Press Door Switch (or close/open door) 3 times
6-Press any button (prefer Unlock button) twice
7-Do the whole process under 30secs.
8-If this does not work, place keyfob gently under rear tire, place shifter in D, hit Gas.

 

Go on eBay, you can buy an OEM switchblade key for like $24-35.

Works perfectly with 04's.
