I'm gonna take out the rear seats...

And I need an assembly diagram or some sort of instructional to do it. I've not noticed any bolts for the back seats..., but I'm sure they're hidden away somewhere.

Gonna take em out to reduce weight (duhr) and get better mileage for an upcoming track day!

really easy. the back cushion pulls up, it takes some effort. but if you pull it up it will come out. the bottom seat is held in with 2 10mm bolts. after the bolts are removed, it pulls straight up.

i think both rear seats are 25-30lbs total. make sure to remove the car jack too.

um - no .
the bottom cusion pulls up . Two lugs either side at the front - be sure to reach under so you don't rip the fabic as you pull up .
With the bottom removed you expose two bolts holding the back cusion . Remove these then lift the back up to clear the lugs at the top and then pull forward .

what Brettus said.

It was really really REALLY easy to remove the back seat. but its a pain to remove anything "behind" those seats ......

I could picture the guy yanking away on the back cusion with all his might and breaking something - either the seat or his back ....

What are they held in by? The bottom cushion I mean. Bolts I can easily understand. If I remove the bottom cushion, can I put it back in when I need it?

the back seat bottom is held in by little clip connectors. seriously, just take your hand, hold the front of the seat bottom, and yank straight up, hard. then wiggle the seat bottom out and you'll see how it goes. It's very simple.

The car jack. In your trunk.. At the furthest spot back in your trunk is a plastic piece, that, if you pull up on it, it has your jack inside and most likely your wheel lock key if you have that. take that out of there too to save a couple pounds.

The rear seats are light foam. I didn't weigh them, but 30 lbs seems optimistic.

yeah, I have to agree that the back seats(at least the bottoms, I've never taken out the seatbacks) are pretty much pointless to take out. If you're that competitive in racing, you'd have taken out much more than the seat backs by now anyway...

they're under that. I'd say 15 pounds is pushing it. Taking out all the carpeting in the trunk might get you up to 20 though.

Oh! you could remove the rear deck panels too.

all of them?

i've carried all 4 cushions at the same time, it felt more than 15lbs. but they are excessively bulky so maybe they just felt like more.

They are not heavy at all...removing them for weight savings is rediculous. If thats the case, remove all valve stem caps as well.

Dont forget the antenna, it could really drag you down....lol.

when you are drag racing, every little bit helps. 10lbs = 1whp. remove all the seats, remove the car jack, remove the carpets. thats quite a bit of free horsepower.

every part in the inside of my car will be gone, it will be strictly a track car only.

(in the process of weight reduction)
