QC Which ignition wires?

I need to change my wires. I saw the ultra ones, the msd ones and magnecore 8,5mm. Is there some better than others or you get what you pay for?? Ultra and magnecore are around 100$ and msd 60$. Msd say they are around 50ohms a feet which is really good, others don't say. Ultra looks well made and I've been suggested magnecore. Which one should i get? My stock one seem defective on track and i read 2800 ohms resistance, i think thats why i get p0302 on track when the car is hot or might be injectors. Ill try cleaning them. Plugs are new now, coils are new, stock cat, cleaned ess, no coolant consumption, starts good cold or hot. Only getting 302 on the track and started to hesitate at the end. Stopped lapping after

You won't notice any difference with wires alone so either msd or magnecore will do just fine.
Your problem could very well be coils related btw (p0302)

Can't speak highly enough of auto EXE wires - they seem to have helped my stock coils to last extremely well on my turbo 8 .

Expensive though ......

grab these from BHR, I ran them for some time (Before I upgraded to the BHR kit) and they worked great with stock coils

Only the best for this kid They are the seriously good wires/connectors . Pretty sure they are the main reason I get away with stock coils while making more power than 99% of the turbo set-ups around .

Actually bought them off a guy here after he lunched his engine .......... $50

I have a feeling it's the same wire as the ones Racing beat sells. Remember Racing Beat and Autoexe are business partners

50 bux is pretty good. I have a set of RB wires collecting dust. whenever I have time I will just put them back on.

Do you have any other mods?
Intake?

Have you clean the Maf?

Are you getting the P0302 misfire code at high rpm's? (I'm guessing yes)

Could be you are way to rich at top end and the stock coils aren't good enough to get you thru ....

FWIW I had the RB CAI and Intake and I was getting the misfire code at high rpm ... replaced coils / wire and plugs with BHR setup ... all gone.

maf is clean, got mazdaspeed cai. only getting 302 on the track and the cel was flashing non stop on the track and then it started to lose power.

Coils are new oem's i changed last week, plugs were changed in feburary but changed em again yesterday, only missing wires to complete the ignition tune up.

i bought MSD oem wires from bhr but i didnt payed for shipping yet, im in canada.

Hate to say it,
Have you gotten a compression test?

nope, bought the car from my family, engine runs great(i think...) the only time it got past 6krpm, i did it

i guess if the compression would be bad, it would not start on the 1st crank and wouldnt run like it does now...im running premix since i had the car.

That's not necessarily true... Do a compression test!

Ill clean my injectors first, i asked my local rotary nut and he doubts its a compression issue, the engine would run bad at low rpm

There's a thin difference between "static" and dynamic compression.
Clogged injectors offer another share of problems and symptoms as well.

Wich injector cleaner do you suggest? My local rotary nut say the ones you put in the gaz and my mecanic friend told me to do the ones where you plug a fitting to the fuel rail and remove the gaz pump fuze and the engine runs only with the cleaner.

I use stuff from magigas or panta only, race fuel producers. They both offer fuel additives that clean the injectors fairly well.
Since they're not available across the pond i don't know what you might find that works as well... However you could simply contact kgparts.com and have a set of balanced\cleaned\flowtested injectors shipped at a miserable price!

Filled up today with 94 octane, did a simulation on the hiway, 3rd gear doing 120-130 kmh and still doing misfires and a cel came on steady. Gonna check what it is tomorow.

after my ride, when i came back it was night, i maily cruised on hiway at 115kph and after i got home, i checked under the car and saw my cat glowing red where the o2 sensor goes in, but the shield was ok. i guess under hi load, the whole thing would be red. under hi load at hi rpm, my GF told me the floor was getting hot. guess its the cat whos giving up
