Question How to remove engine air pump???

I cant find a DIY on this. Can someone make one? or tell me how to do? it if I post pix of a rotary engine sitting on a table???
You can like dup the pix in paint and put red arrows showing what your talking about.
I can help too.
Also what are the pros and cons of doing this?
Let me know of if its been done, point me in the right direction.
KTB.

My curious little mind can't help but ask...
Why do you feel the need to remove the air pump?

I'm always curious about things. Thats why I'm always asking about odd stuff and what not.
I dont know. Some guy told me it might go out over time and its just one less electrical thing that can cause problems.
What do you think?

I think its best if you don't mess with anything unless you have to.

BTW... you can download the shop manual here:
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...service+manual
Download each PDF to your computer and familiarize yourself with it.

Oh ok. Oh cool thanks for the link.

Hey where did you get your AP cat back from? I'm going to get mine from Fluid, but my friend got one and had fitment issues with it. I'm going to have a shop install mine.
So I wanted to ask you, did you have anyfitment issues?
Thanks.

Doesn't matter where you buy it, I would just get it from Fluid.
I didn't have any fitment issues, just watch for the large tips to rest on the shrouds.

If your tips rest on the shrouds, you can use t-clamps on the last two grommets.
This will compress the grommets and raise the rear of the exhaust so the tips aren't resting on the shrouds.
DO NOT try to use regular hose clamps, they aren't strong enough to compress and hold the grommet (ask me how I know)

Yeah I know its not Fluids issue and I'am going to get it from him along with some other goods.
But I have to ask; What kind of T Clamps did you use? can you post a pic of them? or tell me where to get them? I would like to help my friend by telling him about this option for a fix. Maybe when I have mine installed I can give the T Clamps to the shop and tell them to use them on the exhaust like your saying.

*EDIT*
I just did a google. on them. They look like the ones I got at autozone to tie up my hose on my fuel line. Are those the ones your talking about?

I didn't have to use T-Clamps on mine (I was one of the lucky ones).
But I know many have had this issue.
I even helped install an AP cat-back on a local's car and his rested on the shrouds.
No way to tell if you'll need them or not until you do it.
I did read that some have bent the exhaust hangers to raise the back end, but I would rather have the clamps.

If you don't know what a T-Clamp is, do a google search for it.
They look like regular hose clamps, just more durable under heavy compression.
