How much vibration is 'normal'?

I have a 2004 M6 RX-8. When sitting at idle, my drivers chair vibrates. The shifter vibrates (pretty normal), and you can feel the whole car (and hear it) vibrate to the idling engine. The door handle, you name it.

Rev it up some, all gone.

Is that normal? Is it possible that I might want to have the dealership check the motor mounts? Or do our 8's vibrate a bit more than 'other cars'?

I would check the mounts...they say that the 3K stutter is the test for the MT...but mine idles like **** with the broken mount.

The damn thing has been BO'd for over a month

Probably could use new plugs/coils too

you should always feel it in the shifter. you should not feel it anywhere else.

at idle, nothing should move, you shouldn't feel it in your chair, on the peddles, or in the door...

if you have any doubts, go to your mazda dealer and get a test drive from a new car

its usually the motormounts going that cause the vibration.
