I bought the car with the A/C belt removed. I bought the belt, it's hot out and now I want to install it, but I dont know which direction to move the tensioner and do not wish to break it.

Remove the air box.
Loosen the 17mm nut on the pully.
Turn the adjuster bolt counter (12mm?) clockwise till you can get the belt on.
Tighten the belt with the adjuster bolt.
Tighten the 17mm nut.
Reinstall air box.


Just did my belts last week.

 

No need to remove the airbox.

Why would u need to remove the airbox for that? ...

 

Because I changed my air filter at the same time.
