Heat/Thermo wraps?

I saw this on another forum-- so please enlighten me, what are the benefits of wrapping your exhaust system (not just ca-back).

Common sense it retains the heat more, making hot air move faster, correct? What's the benefit in this? Would the wraps affect the sound, I'm thinking it would. What happens when these things get wet?

Thanks for any feedeback?

Most I see about wrapping parts like Headers is not good. It can trap water and corrode your exhaust system. Ceramic coating is a much better option. Also, most of those wraps cannot handle the heat from a rotary so there is no point even thinking of using it.

Don't bother, negligible performance upgrades.
