Have you had the AC serviced?

Please only respond to this poll if you've actually taken the car in for service on the AC.

Ok, now I can finally vote in my own poll

Had mine in today and they claimed all was within specs. However, when I got home I checked the numbers from the service invoice against the workshop manual. The high-pressure reading was in the normal range, however the low-pressure side reading was 35 psi. Per the manual, the acceptable range at 75 degrees ambient temperature is between 12 and 20 psi, so it really is quite far out of spec or my manual is incorrect or there was some mistyping on the invoice.

An admittedly quick and not-necessarily-educated trip through the troubleshooting section landed me at either improper positioning of the expansion-valve "heat-sensing tube", or faulty expansion-valve.

I am past the VIN-range for the amplifier TSB.

So I will take it up again with our service guys and see how it pans out.

New amplifier installed in November, before TSB. It is cooler now but still cycles too soon, cold -cool -cold -cool. Compressor cycles off when interior temp is 90 degrees. This is not right.

If you got AC amp in Nov. you may have gotten old style so I would take it to the dealer or call them with your VIN #to see if you have the new AC amp. Your problem is what the new AC amp fixed in my AC.

Got the amp in May. Big improvement, but still not perfect. Good enough though that I'm not too worried about it anymore.
