I tore my old motor down and have been studying it for a little while. I have found some interesting stuff.
i have several findings that concern me but my question at this time is "has anyone else specked the exhaust ports from one rotor side housing to the other?"
My findings certainly surprised me.

one of the things I found on my engine was;
on one side plate the exhaust port and intake port was separated by 42cm, on the other side plate(not the middle plate) it was closer together. Less than 42 cm's. That aint right. Beginning to understand more of why the siamese center port. And RG is right --there is some exhaust port work that can be done. And it is not just making them bigger.
Oh by the ray, my side plate and center plate after closer inspection dont past my muster--so thats both housings, one rotor and 2 side plates i will not use. Aint much left is there!!

In comparing the ports, is it the intake or the exhaust ports that are not inline?

 

It is the space in between the intake and exhaust ports that is not the same. At least in my engine they are not. It is not a huge difference, but it enough that it is easily measured.
The exhaust sleeve is another question for me. I will post that later after a little research

what if one specs further apart than 42?

How much off are we talking about? If it's the top of the exhaust ports, there rally isn't any flow through there anyways. It's just the relief for carbon buildup.

 

one is at 42 and the other is at 44 (no carbon deposits by the way--they were cleaned off) ---between intake and exhaust ports. So much for cnc machining.
Measured from the leading edge of the exhaust port to the final edge of the intake port.
I also do not like that little recessed spot in the exhaust port between the sleeve edge and the housing itself.
There is room for work inside this engine. bearings , rotor's, lead sparkplug area cooling jacket and hole, and some on the ports.
I wonder if anyone has coated the seals --i know the outside edge would wear off fast but on the the rotor edge itself it may be useful? May make this less likely to be carbon influenced?

Correct but the port openings are all cnc'd.
