The ''fan'' sound is completely different then the 'clunking' sound when I slowly turn my car...
I just didn't know if I'd get any replies, so I just asked the one question hehe *blushes*

hmmm - could be more serious . Some of the testing stations here have devices that wiggle the whole car around so you can look for movement in the suspension etc . Perhaps your dealer does not have the right equipment to check it properly .
You should go elsewhere

I have nowhere else to go..... Could it possibly be the summer tires? I don't recall the "Thunking and jerking'' movements when I had my winters on...

In reference to the clunking sound, does it do it when you turn left and right or just one direction?

It does the 'Clunking' sound when I'm literally almost at a stop, or slowly yielding. Doesn't matter which way I turn. Today, I noticed it sounded like it was coming from the front drivers side.. it's a 'Ga-Dunk Ga-Dunk' sound hahaha.. soo hard to tell you what I mean...owell..*sighs*

Question!!--- Should I go to the dealer to change them,.. or are they easy to change?

Oh, It's not when I'm braking I can have no feet on the pedals and when I'm slowly going forward (slight turn) it does the EVIL thunk...

For starters, with almost 50,000 miles, you need to change your pads. Second, it is hard to say for sure without hearing the sound, but the inner rear passanger side brake pad has a metal bar which rubs on your caliber when the brakes are going bad. The sound is repetative and goes on and off. It is higher pitched. Even if you are not braking, if you have recently braked, your master cylinder is still depressed so the metal warning bar will still rub on your caliber.

brakes are easy to change...as easy as taking the wheel off and one caliper bolt...slide the oldpads out...slide new in and depress the caliper piston and reinstall and after a nice pedal pump you're ready to go..

So does that sound like the sound you are hearing? Cause you said a "clunking" sound, and we all have different definitions of sounds. Answering your price question, there are quite a few guys in Canada with 8's, so get them to do it. Do not go to the stealership unless nothing else seems to work

You need to figure out precisely under what conditions this occurs then take the dealers mechanic for a test drive with you driving so you can replicate it for them .

Also check your lug nuts, make sure they are tight. I bet one or more is loose. I had a 'clunking' sound of the wheel hitting the hub as it rotated at an angle, with the weight of the car pushing the wheel itself around on the lug bolts. Yeah, that wheel came off and went rolling past me later that night. (old car, shop's fault). I recognized it again as loose lug nuts on the PA turnpike when I heard a clunking sound under slight turns in time to pull over and get them re-tightened, 1 of the 5 lug nuts there (my Protege5, my fault) was almost completely off, the other 4 worked looser than finger tight.

Going straight, the wheel will stay in generally the same place on the lug bolts, turning hard, the force will hold the wheel either totally in or totally out. slight turns will make it oscillate on the lug bolts and could easily be a 'clunk'.

Get that checked too. You can check it easy, no need for a dealer.
