Hey wazz up ...i just did my gearbox oil change but When i shitf from 1st gear to 2nd gear i hear a weird sound on my gearbox.. Can anybody tell me what is going on?

what type of gear did you use?

 

what sound? grind?
what gear oil did you put in?

 

Royal porple syntuetic oil

Sae 75w-90

 

Grind sound 2nd & 3rd.. First fourth 5th & 6th gear feel so smooth.. What can i do??

 

There is a known issue with using this oil in the RX-8 transmission.....do a search

replace it with Redline MT90 or Eneos, or Amsoil......

My advice, search and read up on things.

These transmissions are expensive temperamental and its not something you want to do if you don't have all the facts.

 

Are you certain you added the proper amount? It might be a good idea to double check it.

 

I put on 4 quary of oil

 

 

How in the world do you put that much in? You fill through the fill plug until it starts coming out. Should take about 1.8 quarts.

How did you even manage to put four quarts of fluid into your transmission?

 

My mecanic put that much.. So you guys mean take a quart oh oil out.?

 

No we mean that you fill it up until it starts seeping out.

There is no physical way that 4 quarts will fit in that transmission. How did you measure those quarts?

 

my mechanic charged me for 4 quarts

Hey wazz up thats me again ... Hey amsoil 75w 90 is the best gear lube for rx8 i did change my oil again and royal purple on trash hey ya outthere dont used that oil my gearbox is like a brand new all my gears feel so smoot
