Does anyone come across problems like these when shifting gears?

E.g.
- when you shift down to 1st gear, sometimes you need to try more than one time? (ie. is it to do with my skill?)
- gear completely struck, cann't change gear at all. need to switch off engine and restart to solve the problem. (ie. it happens twice to me, and it was quite dangerous.)

 

This has happened to a few of us and in each case that I can think of it has always been related to the clutch. You should bring it in to the dealer ASAP.

 

its just hard to shift into first from second when your above like 10 mph....... but thats typical. first gear is designed to begin from 0 mph.. not 10 mph..

 

My service rep changed my tranny to synthetic and it helped my shifting in and out of 1st.

 

I supposed my car was manufactured in Australia if not imported from Jap in 2004.

I had the exact situation like yours when I was getting off freeway and the gear completely struck, couldn't shift at all. I think maybe because my speed dropped down too fast while I changed it. I wish I was driving BMW.

 

I had that happen to me! It wouldnt go into gear and when it did it would pop out.

they had to replace the linkage. and tried to blam me

 

which linkage did they replace?
