Gathered some data from my New Dashhawk- How do these temps look?
Well, I finally got a dashhawk to keep an eye on my operating temps (since Im always paranoid my cars running hot).
I was actually really shocked to find that it seems to be in check, however, I wanted to share the numbers I saw on my little cruise I just took.
Here's the details:
70 degrees - mild humidity (sunset in Chicago)
Drive was about 15 miles long.
Here's the temps I wanted some opinions on:
While Driving:
coolant temp: 180-190
Intake Temp: 80-95
Cat Temp: 1300-1500 (really depended on throttle) Reason this is a concern for me is because my cabin is getting REALLY hot so I felt as if my cat was overheating, and I really do not know where it should be temp wise
It became extremely alarming at idle however how fast my intake temps spiked. I have a K&N V2 hot air intake paired with a ram air hole in the bumper (deedub style).
coolant temp 200- 208
Intake temp - 100- 140!!!!!
Cat Temp - Same
As soon as I began driving, the intake temps would drop back down into the 90's again.
I couldn't really find too much info on these numbers, figured I would get some feedback from veteran members. My car is aging now so Im doing the best I can to keep the original motor healthy and COOL.
Thanks for the time
EDIT- I also plan to get trans temp/oil temp/ and oil press gauges in the ashtray within the upcoming months too that way I can truly see EVERYTHING. Just thought I would add that.
