I've been on the list since early October. I hope I'm not down in the 'hundreds'.

Yeah they are very responsive over there. I've ordered a few parts from them. Great service.

I ordered some last week. Chris called and said it was on backorder and they should have some in 2 weeks. Sounds like they got some in early!!!

Well, I placed my order on August 21st, so you do the math.

Maybe this was already discussed, I'm not sure... but thinking about the premix quantity, it's pretty clear that by always adding the same amount at every fill-up, the quantity of the oil in the fuel will increase - albeit certainly slowly. Unless someone always fills up when the tank is dry
So to prevent an overly high concentration it may be a good idea to insert a fill-up with no premix once in a while - maybe every 3 months or so

I ordered mine on September 20. No real data, so I can't "do the math". But I can speculate that I am probably #suck.

I can't believe I'm jonesin' this much just for some oil.

Why not just put in the appropriate amount of oil for the quantity of gas you are going to pump?
Since the gauge is perfectly linear (3.5 gallons per 1/4), just read your gauge and mix your oil.
You could, I suppose, go to 50% of your typical regimen to "thin" the concentration without eliminating your protection.

Since when? The first half of my gauge is good for about 100 miles. The next half is good for 150ish.. I believe I've heard other people complaining about this as well..

But yeah, it's pretty simple mental math as to how much to add.

Is anyone else amused by the concept of inserting a fill-up into your 8's tank?

Surprisingly, it doesn't just keep going up.

Steady state is reached after just a few tankfulls (around 4), but the final fuel:oil ratio is dependent on how much fuel is left.

Assuming a consistent fillup point, you can use the following to determine where the fuel:oil ratio will stabilize:

Final ratio = initial ratio * (fillup gallons / tanksize in gallons).

Of course, if you're using half-tank fillups, most people will be adjusting the amount of oil. But you can still use it to figure out your final ratio even if you normally fill up at the onset of the fuel light.

Or you could just read the gauge on the gas pump to find out how many gallons you put in...

Except you need to put the oil in first so it mixes correctly.
Otherwise, you need to drive directly to an autocross.

I've put it in last lots of times . I would think if it had not mixed up I would have a very somkey exhaust by the last 1/4 tank but this has not happened .

1. Put in 1 gallon of gas
2. Put in 1/2 oz of premix
3. Goto step 1

Is 3.5 gallons per 1/4 accurate? That would mean the tank is 14 gallons, which certainly seems right to me. But the book says it's a 15.9 gallon tank. I've never gone over 13 gallons on a fill-up and that's even after the light has been on for a while.

I've filled up 14.5g before. The tank is 15.9 but I never want to chance it

I run out of gas long before I get to the point that I can add 15 gallons.

Wow ok, I guess I won't push it any more than that Does this have anything to do with the shape of our gas tank? Like there's a certain volume of fuel the pump can never reach?

I ran out of gas and just managed to coast to a gas pump. The fillup took 57 liters (15.06 US gal.). I had previously assumed the tank held more fuel after the light went on than actually might have been the case (60 liter capacity, 15.85 gal).

I've run out a few times! lol.
Its always between 14.9 and 15.1 for a completely "dry" tank.
One of these days I'm gonna pull my pump again and look around in there.

BTW - my case of Idemitsu showed up today. New bottles!
