Gas/Oil Premix Thread
I have used Pettit Racing's Protek-R premix for rotary engines for years in my rotaries (street and race) with great results ( I have owned seven rotaries since 1973). Just go to their website to order. You use 4oz per tankful, more for racing applications.

I have been using Bel-Ray H1-R and could find no yea or nay on using it. It is expensive but I don't drive much. It is a 100% synthetic ester 2T, and I started worrying about if it was compatible with a catalytic converter.
I just got word back from Bel-Ray:
Yes Bel-Ray H1R Racing 100% Synthetic Ester 2T Engine Oil is suitable for use with catalytic converter equipped motorcycles.
I had some trouble with my plugs, wasn't driving it hard enough and had them replaced. When I took it in, the tech writer commented on how it drove like a new car compared to others that come in. It seemed to be more powerful than others I tested in 2006 and still goes like stink.
I have been using the 3 oz. per fillup using the throw away dixie cups.

Saw your 2008 info on pemixing, what's been your results? thx R
not sure if you can say it is the "only way" ... but will it help? yes ... is there a small group that gets to 100k without having any teardown? yes ... is 200k even more rare? yes.
Started premixing very recently. Doing a 100:1 ratio (12-14 oz: 13 Gal Fill up)
Using 2 stroke motorcycle/scooter oil (certified for use with fuel injected + catlytic converter equipped motorcycles)
Currently just pouring the whole 14 oz container straight into the gas tank just before filling up at the gas station (hoping the pouring of the gas on top of the oil "churns" the oil enough to mix it with the gas.

I have been a long time fallower of this post but havent posted anything lately myself on the topic. but wanted to put this out there. me personaly im on my second motor with almost 10k on the new one and have been premixing ever since I got the new one in. I have been using
the Bel-Ray H1R Racing 100% Synthetic and its great oil for our motors but so much money. any ways I have been like clock work putting 9oz every tank and I check my mpg ever tank as well.
I have been averaging 17 mpg with 9 oz per tank. then about 2 weeks ago I missed my premix twice and noticed my mpg went from 17 to 19.5 then to 24.5..... never have I ever got 24.5 mpg on my car. my point to this hole thing is I still beleave in premix its great my motor runs great but I do think We including Me are putting to much premix in. im going to slowly back down mine to about 6 oz per fill up instead of 9oz and I will report my findings. on both motor feel and mpg.
p.s second motor was put in at 99,690 miles. car was bought on 32,000 miles used.
didnt premix untill second motor was put in.

Does anyone order their Premix online..... I have been looking around and havent found too much up here where I can buy these brands of Premix so I'm looking around online now for somewhere to grab some Idemitsu, amsoil, or motul? I did take a look at the Pettit stuff but I'd like to compare some prices also.
EDIT: oh ya and must ship to Canada

My 07 Auto Gt averages approx 20 mpg, but CAN ATTAIN 23-27 on the highway depending on if the wind is behind or not.
I don't think I can prove mileage improvement with or without scangauge or premix, but I still believe the premix gives slight ( less than 1/2 mpg) increase in mpg.
If you had a device that brings mpg average from 17 to 24.5 average you would become a millionaire.
Beauty thanks man
I have used Pettit Racing's Protek-R in several of my latest of seven rotary cars over the years. It has been extensively used in street and race rotaries. I have never had a rotary engine failure in all the years and countless thousands of miles while using the Protek-R. Use about 4 oz in each tankful, more for heavier racing applications.

Yeah I checked that Pettit stuff out.... I would love to try it but the only problem is going into this upcoming school year funds are tight and that **** is expensive!!!! I got 3 times the amount of Idemitsu for $17 more from mazdatrix. Once I am done school this year and I have a steady paycheque I would like to try the Protek though.
It says it is formally tcw-III and is to be used in marine things as well so probably a bad idea. I guess you could find a bottle and look at what ratings it has since the site fails to say anything other than "formally tcw-III".

My motor is out and will be sent to pineapple for documentation soon
