Fuel Gauge Inacurate

Wondering who had some ideas... Back in the day there was a float in the tank, I think you can replace them.

Run out of gas twice now..once right after the light came on and now showing 1/4 tank and when I ran out the light came on.

Wondering what my options might be...

Thanks!

in my old car, the float got turned (dont know how) and was hitting the side of the tank , giving false readings, depending on where i parked, i was ether half full or empty lol.

not sure how the rex's pumps are setup but id start there.

Thanks.. I think that's the next step, to see how it measures (ie float or not).. .for now I'm using my trip gauge (VW beetle flashback for some) to make sure I don't run out. It makes driving it more fun.. and I noticed the rx8 hashes on the gauge arent really 1/4 per large hash.. in case anyone's wondering
Thanks again.
