Figures it happened to me :)

2004 6MT

Typical one of those days where you run into the oh it will never happen to me issues. Start the car early this morning thought of letting it warm up gf says she needs to move it to get it out of her car's way no problem .... she backs it up ... parks it on the road .... and ......

Shuts it off comes in and hands me my keys saying shes leaving. I think nothing of it go outside realize it hasn't been running for more then maybe a minute try and start it ...... wont turn over ..... you get that frozen feeling in your soul as you know exactly what happened.

10 second peddle to the floor .... try again .... nothing .... damn it .... once more
10 second peddle to the floor .... try again .... nothing .... damn it

Remove fuse try again 8-10 seconds .... fuse back in try again .... nothing not even a small pop ....
attempted this multiple times each time giving the starter time to cool before cranking it again ... no use in burning the starter out.

Engine coolant light is on, CEL is on, traction control and abs blink rapidly .... lights on the dash go in and out as i turn the key for the 10 seconds

If you can't tow your car you might want to try turning the car on with the fuel fuse out for more than once.
As for the lights on, your battery is probably down now

I let my gf drive my 8 once, then she put it into 6th instead of reverse on a forward slanting hill, let's just say thank you to whoever invented the emergency brake and that was the only time she will ever sit in the cockpit.

Geeeezzzz this is an unfriendly thread to a female 8 driver. hehe

Come to think of it... I won't let my sister drive mine. Or my BFF. Or my daughter.

Seriously, if OP didn't "train" his GF about the car, and he let her move it, and she's not an 8 owner and has no clue... who should be getting the whipping here? Just sayin

and off to the dealership she goes .... first the tow truck company sends a truck with out the dolly and the guy expects to tow it and says oh it will be fine ... i look at the front and back of my car say no ....

2nd guy shows up 1 hour later with a flat bed saying good thing cause the guy who stopped by earlier had towed a corvette and did not have the dolly for it and raised it to high ... and ..... ripped the front bumper off the car just 2 days before.

ive let two gfs drive my car and never had any problems with it. they knew to let the engine warm up, and they never missed or grinded a gear. then again i tend to pick brains over sheer hottness when it comes to women.

Tie a rope to the front tie down hook, and gently pull it up to 10-15 mph. Pop the clutch while in second gear, itll spin right up, no prob, just give it a bit of gas when the RPMS come up so you get it good and running, and blowout/burn all the excess fuel. I've heard push starting can be done, get like 2 guys or so and if you can push it fast enough by hand it should work too. Personally I just think pull starting with another car is easier then trying to push start and fail. If you have a hill, rolling down it would work too. Just make sure your key is in the ON position for these methods to work.

Just because you CAN, does not mean you should. Avoid cold shutdowns period with this car.

It isn't something that always happens. Usually it will be OK, but it will catch up to you if you do this out of habit.

Well if you look really closely at your front grill, you will see a small square that you can pop open. Do that and you will expose a heavy duty looking screw hole. You can screw in a tie down hook there. The hooks are in your trunk, in the pop open compartment where you emergency Jack and Tire Iron are stored. Two hooks that can be screwed in to the front and back of your car are in there.
