are you talking about a midpipe? LOTS of people here have done it, should free up some HP for you.

Simulator? as in tricking the car so it doesn't throw a CEL? Just buy an AccessPort, you'll never get the light.

Ya know what you could do? You could use the search button at the top of the page. Hell, this forum has been around for a good while, if people would search first we wouldn't have a kagillion threads on the same subject.

Just watch out if you miss your shot and the cat gets all strung out on catnip....

It's not just a matter of noise an HP. The cats are REALLY heavy when I removed mine. In comparison, the Racing Beat midpipe is a feather.

So it should help some if you're looking into weight reduction.

The stock exhaust is also rather heavy with a giant muffler. Aftermarket ones (like my MazdaSpeed ones) have smaller mufflers.

the turboxs catback is heavier than the stock catback.

i think it evens out if you replace the cat with their midpipe.

TurboXS catback + mid pipe rule. But you need longer tips. And if your car is NA it might be incredibly loud. With a turbo it is just right. :-D

what do you mean no?

i held the turboxs and the stock catbacks in my hands and the turboxs definitely felt a good bit heavier.

anyone know the weights for them? turboxs and stock catbacks?

the stock has been weighed. it is in the stock weights thread. it is a sticky..

and no way the turbo xs weighs that much..

the corksport and borla were both at least 14 lbs lighter. and that is just the catback..
