Exhaust Sounds too Raspy

Hi everyone,

A little bit about my BB rx8,

-AEM CAI with prefilter (for rain purposes)
-Exoticspeed Headers, 3in
-Exoticspeed midpipe, 3in (dual canisters)
-Mazdaspeed exhaust v1, not sure of pipe size

So onto my question/concern, recently i have installed my exoticspeed headers and the midpipe over 2 days. When i tested it out with all the parts listed above, i found that the exhaust sound was more raspy than i would have liked. i am not sure what is causing this and was wondering if anyone had any idea why it is so raspy or how to fix it?

here are two videos i made, sorry if the audio quality isn't good.

What is causing it is the fact that it is a rotary. A different mid-pipe and exhaust set-up will change it's tone and amount. BHR's mid-pipe, I am told, eliminates a lot of the rasp, but I have never heard one In person.

A 3in system is going to be a lot harder to tone down than a 21/2 . You really need some decent resonators in the midpipe . The ones you have don't seem to be doing the job.

I understand that it is a rotary and at first i didnt mind the raspiness but now its starting to get annoying cause its a loud raspiness.

could it be my catback exhaust making that raspiness?

would people say that the bhr midpipe is better than the racing beat?

i have looked at video footage of both but the conditions were not the same and the audio was not the greatest.

They are different products Souhjah, RB's has 2 resonators to do the job while BHR's only uses one that has no packing inside so it won't wear out.
Both companies make great products, it comes down to a matter of preference.

Mid-pipe is the source of your rasp. Headers don't really help.

Exoticspeed makes a fine catback, though.

Souhjah have you been to any local meets? Chances are someone at those meets has one of the exhausts/midpipes your interested in. If your just wanting the rasp gone then go with the BHR midpipe as far as I know its the only one with no packing in the resonators so it should not develop a loud rasp over time like others do.
