EVAP Pump gone bad
Has anyone else had their EVAP pump go bad. The dreaded yellow light came on this weekend. Just waiting for the parts to come in now. Just wandering how common the problem is?

my evap pump went bad about 2 weeks ago....the dealership replaced the pump and all hoses going to it. My check engine light has been coming on for about 5 months (about 7-8 times in that time span). the dealership always reset the ecu and checked again and the evap leak code went away..so they said i had to screw the gas cap on...um..yea i'm not a moron...so after it came on for 5 months the pump finaly went bad...and with it all the hoses...4 day install on all parts (they had to wait for some of the hoses)..but no biggie..it was all covered and i haven't had anymore problems.
As a side note the check engine light came on after about 2 1/2 duty cycles (a lill more than 2 fill ups). But other than me i haven't heard of anyone else with this problem. Just anouther perk of owning a first production car

Evap system problem....
Jan 14.....I had a CEL in which they reflashed the computer.
Jan 25.....CEL, same code(small evap leak). replaced evap pump. replacement pump was bad. another one put on.
Feb 4......CEL (large evap leak). was not the gas cap. I checked the cap after filling tank and again when light came on. It was tight.
3/14......CEL (large evap leak). Still same code. in process of replacing pump again along with the filter. This under the advise of Mazda tech. But would not guarentee that it would fix.
getting very frustrating
................
Also told condensation in crankcase is "normal", no fix. I'm sorry but no matter what anybody says water in oil is not normal.
two days ago discovered two silver dollar sized oil spots on floor of garage about 8-10 inches apart

mootz, armt_rx8 and sdcrx8,
What vintage are your 8s (when did you get them) and how many miles do you have on them now? I'm thinking this might be an age/mileage issue.
