Electrical problem.. HELP PLEASE!

I had trouble starting my 04 auto today.

I got in turned the key to start it and al my lights just flickered and the starter would not turn the engine over.

So i chilled listened to some music and tapped the brake a few times and my dash lisghts started to get brighter.

So i tried starting it again. this time starter turned the engine over but my lights were still flickering. As the starter was turning the engine over it would seem to get faster. /then fianlly the engine started.

It seems i had a little electrical grmlin. Any ideas what it could be? maybe a grounding issue?

Might be a loose terminal,

but most likely.......battery.

'04, never had it replaced? Almost certain.

The battery was replaced one year ago and Terminals where cleaned with a steal brush.

So you guys a saying a weak battery gets stronger the more you use it when the car is not running? That does not make sense to me.

After the cAR started i shut it off and tried starting it agin and it started right back up.

take the battery out and test it. if you don't have a tester then take it to a car parts shop that can test it for you. I'll bet you a donut that it's bad.

Tested it. After i put load to it, the voltage seemed to fluctuate. So I'm thinking its got a bad cell.

I wounder what caused that to happen.

^^ Life Batteries are fickle...the cheaper the battery the more fickle they tend to be

That doesn't mean the most expensive are better either ........Some of the more expensive batteries out there are crap!

lots of people have gone with the optima yellow and red tops. search for battery and you'll find a bunch of threads about it.
