The rew ECU would not work on a renesis. What is your goal, maybe there is a another option.

I think the question was the opposite. Put a renny ECU on a 13b-REW correct?

I suppose with a ton of work to spoof all the stuff you don't have. It seems like a stand alone Bosch or MoTec would give you better results for cheaper/less work. The Renny ECU is plugged in to everything from the AC to the traction control. I would think you'd have to spoof all that just to get it to idle.

What do you hope to gain from the Renny ECU? the multi maps by gear and decel?

i was just curious because when i get back on my feet i want to swap the renesis out for a lower compression rotary like a 12a, 13b-rew or a 20b so i can boost the hell outta it. (just want to get up to 475-500rwhp

Thanks,
Naldy

Spoof the inputs to the stock ECU and run a standalone......

Microtechs and Haltechs work well on 13B's..there are lots of success with these.

Motec's great too...if you hve deep pockets

Sorry....assumption made...

You need to give the stock ECU certain signals ( like trigger wheel signal, MAF , ECT, etc )so it thinks it is still in control so that Throttle, dash and TCS/ABS/DSC power steering etc still work correctly..

So what you are doing is keeping the ECU happy driving the auxiliary devices while the standalone runs the engine..

hmm. Although it seems like he wants to drop a 13b-rew into the RX8 and try and run it with the stock ECU.

I suppose it's possible but haven't seen it done. The only swaps I've heard about are the 20B swaps. Scott at Mazsport would probably be your best bet to ask for advice on that.

It seems like you'd just have to figure out what the engine inputs are to the ECU and make sure you have something coming from the REW motor that's equivalent. I don't know much about the difference between the two. You could be the first of us to try it.
