Driver door lock stopped working
As the title says, It just stopped working. I had DIY installed the alarm shock sensor, and everything worked perfectly for two days. Then the driver's side door lock just stopped working.
I spoke to a mazda tech, and he asked me if the dome lights still come on and off when I lock or unlock the driver door. I told him yes, and he told me that the actuator isn't fried, and should still be working.
I've gone over the wiring three times, everything is correct. I don't know what to do, other than rip that piece of **** out, or throw 3-500 dollars at mazda to have them tell me I need to give them more.
Any ideas?
Edit: The shock sensor box says it was manufactured in 04, but the alarm works great, and so does the passenger door.

If you unplug the shock sensor does your door lock start working?
Does your door lock work if you physically lock the door with the lever?
Does your door lock work if you use your key?
Does your door lock work if you use your drivers side switch?
Does your door lock work if you use the passenger side switch?
Does your door lock work if you use the remote?

If you unplug the shock sensor does your door lock start working? Not sure. Let me check...
Edit: if I unplug it, there's no change. Driver's dead, passenger works fine. Just no sensor.
Does your door lock work if you physically lock the door with the lever? Yes.
Does your door lock work if you use your key? Yes.
Does your door lock work if you use your drivers side switch? The switch? No. If I manually lock it, it stays locked.
Does your door lock work if you use the passenger side switch? Just the passenger.
Does your door lock work if you use the remote? Passenger, not driver.

(From the Electrical System Manual) "Door Lock Actuator - Contains a reversible motor which locks or unlocks door depending on the direction of current flow."
The actuator is controlled by the Keyless Control Module based on various inputs such as the door key switch, door lock switch, and Keyless (remote) Receiver.
I'd guess the motor is not sold as a separate item from the actuator.
Possibly one of the connectors, most likely the actuator connector or Keyless Control Module connector is loose?

I had this problem for a long time wiht the passenger door actuator..and took the whole thing apart to figure it out... the motor had just died after a while. The dealership will sell you the whole loking system for anywhere from $100 to $150, so I was quoted. I went to a junkyard and bought one for $40. You can search some of my threads and posts and find out what i'm talking about. It's a 9 inch or so black plastic piece...
I even tried calling the companies of the actuator, and the motor...both very japanese, and neither would help me out.

Driving my unreliable rx8
I have the same issue. I've replaced both of the actuators with working ones from people on here and neither one fixed the problem. It started with my passenger door and then work sometimes and sometimes not. Then moved to the drivers door. now they never work but I can hear them trying. It is like they are not getting enough power. I've replaced all the fuses and searched. I've seen several topics abut the problem, but never a solution. Posted here

talked with tech
I talked to a tech yesterday were thinking a possibility of keyless control module or body control module are possibilities but at over 600 it would be cheaper for 3 hours of labor (worst case scenario) to see if its the 100$ part or the 500$ part instead of buying both and just trying it. I will update asap but snow is on its way so i might be waiting until summertime
