drain plug?

The oil drain plug.

I havent jacked the car up, but have long arms and felt the whole oil pan and could not feel a drain plug.

For those who have changed their oil or had the car up, where is the oil drain plug - on the pan or elsewhere on the bottom?

Thanks.

On the oil pan, curb side of engine 19mm socket.

I was able to drain the oil without jacking up my RX-8.

The drain plug, being located on the passenger side of the oil pan, is close enough to be able to get your ratchet & socket on the plug while you lay on the ground.

The 'rotor style' oil drain pan bought from Wal-Mart fit nicely under the oil pan, so no lifting of the RX-8 was necessary.

Makes for a simple & quick Oil Change.

With the location of the filter, you can quickly replace that without the need to be under the RX-8.
