I got the news last night that the warranty company is going to cover a new engine. I called, was very sweet, then got a bit firm and then yelled a bit. Talked to a supervisor who then said all he needed was a bit more info before they decided. A few more calls back and forth thru the day. Ramsey finally called and said all the warranty company needs is my service records and they will cover it. Got them printed out and going to drop them off Monday. I've changed my oil on a regular basis...3 to 6 mos (every 3,000 to 6,000 miles). So I figure I should be ok there, bc the manufactor guidelines are every 7,500 per the dealership. Crossing my fingers this all works out.
I kinda feel like I shouldnt have to pay my warranty deductible again...since this is the 4th time I had it in for the same problem. And since they SAID they already had run a compression test, and obviously hadnt until the 4th time in went it. Or maybe I should just be lucky I'm getting a new engine and not bitch about anything else...lol

Update. The company Western General who I have my extended warranty thru ultimately decided to deny my claim due to "apex seals" not being a listed covered part. Lots of fighting with them over the last few days. They claim I purchased the wrong warranty. I should have purchased one that covers "the components of rotary engines". I asked for a copy of this fictious warranty they claim to offer, they refuse to send me one. They are a bunch of liars. I have since contacted the Iowa Attorney General and the BBB and filed a complaints.
I at this point thought I was seriously screwed. I went back to the dealer who I purchased the car and the warranty thru and...to my great surprise...within 3 hrs they had agreed to replace my engine for me bc they sold me a warranty that doesnt apply to my cars engine. I still cannot believe it myself. Some of the best customer service in the world. And gave me a free loaner too.

Wow, that is great!
The intent when you bought the warranty was that it would cover things like this, and they are honoring your intent rather than the letter of what was sold to you. Exceedingly rare in today's world.

Got my car back yesterday. Seems to be running good so far. Crossing my fingers everything is finally fixed. Any tips on how I should run or care for my new engine?

Lol! No pretty sure I'm still a blonde girl. Yeah I'm so glad to have it back. What color is your rx8? I'm always on the lookout for other rx8 drivers in town. :-)

We have a couple more now actually, I think were up to about a dozen of them total now... There was another black 1 but it broke down a couple weeks ago so I'm pretty sure I'm the only brilliant black left in town. However every time I see you I'm in my work van... anytime you hear about a drive away cancer event show on up I'll be there and it will be good to have another rotary around, or if you see me around town just try and catch up
