Differential gear oil capacity?.

Hated to put it here but after much frustration and time i alas have not uncovered America's best kept secret so i thought maybe some gear head here might know how much gear oil goes in a drain and fill. I know i can just replace the volume with the exact volume as i take out but i just want to know for my own satisfaction because i do most of my own work but the diff is some thing i haven't delt with at least on the rx8.

Does any one know how much gear oil goes in the rx8 automatic rear differential?> I like to use 75w90 systhetic but how much?. THANK YOU.

And this is the wrong subforum to ask the question in.

My bad i did find it under the link http://foxed.ca/rx7manula2003 mazdar...s01036html.
However please note that the link i just quoted on the surface seemed like it was for an rx7 and i didn't know if the diff in an rx7 was the same as in a rx8 so at first glance i passed it over. Easy mistake i think. I am disapointed how ever being attacked by some member here , not you but it was non the less disapointing. My adult mind wondered why some one just can't say 1.5 quarts give or take and leave it at that?. That is what most adults do , not the surly *** hat routine i got from another member. You folks seem a bit testy?, why be nasty what for?. Just say 1.5 quarts....adult answer. I will try not to use this forum to much and these answers to a legit question are usually answered with a nasty put down tone....totally not cool dude. I did not realize this was the wrong place to ask a question?, my bad on that issue.

More importantly, I think we should revisit the topic of how to clean the inside of the differential.

You are probably right about that even though some of the Gang here seems to think it is a waste of time to do so even though i had it off because i wanted to see the diff in person and not just check the magnet and leave it at that..

Some folks here are just childish in their attacks on folks. Oh well dumb is as dumb does ey!. Good idea however my self i wouldn't posdt that my self because you will get lambasted by some of these self appointed guru's. I cleaned mine with break cleaner then blew it out with my air compressor and all is good. oh yes i used 75W90 synthetic in the diff.

If you are still alive and/or have all of your limbs intact then nobody is attacking you.

However, don't tempt us ...

The ironic 'childish' comments are pretty amusing though. The sooner you learn to "wax on, wax off" the sooner you will fit in ...

Be nice. I was reffering to the surley tone. I got my info and a dose of rx8 hospitality. I'm good.....lol.
