Question Crank Seal Replaced but engine misfiring

So was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. Had the Waterpump and Front engine seal replaced at the dealership, Got the car back and drove it 2 miles and the check engine light started flashing. Took back to the dealership and they told me in 10 key cycles it had misfired 4 times. After the seal was replaced in first key cycle it had misfired 4000 times. They told me they learned something new, that when you replace the front crank seal, that the computer has to be reprogrammed to recognize the new crank seal?????? Any thoughts on this..

You will need to reset the ES sensor...the 20 brake taps reset....that need to be done to relearn the sensor profile after it is removed

I would assume that the dealership knows to do this but if they didn't we will.... thanks. All they said was that they reprogrammed the PCM.

hate to break it to you but the dealerships don't get too much respect around here, there are exceptions, but most are few and far between, most are worthy of the 6 letter R word description

thanks -- didn't know exactly what to search for. Luckily car still has two months warranty left on the PT -- hopefully nothing else will happen anytime soon.

yes we know all too well the "R" letter word for most dealerships. So far, this one seems to be pretty good.
