Virtual dress up with the car? You bet - check out the Virtual Garage, here. This is a very slick package that lets you set the color of the car and try differerent Mazdaspeed parts combos on it... and it was what convinced me to add Mazdaspeed side skirts to the sides along with factory "appearance package" front spoiler and rear flares to my car, which I discussed here.

The only problem with this package is that all you can try is Mazda parts, and you have to play with the menus as it's all in Japanese... but it's still pretty slick.

Hope this helps! :D

One way to do it would be to make a frame with the 'rails' out of 1 piece of Al and attach the stock black top/latch to it. Another would be to make the whole thing out of 1 piece of Al and attach the stock latch button, or simply leave it buttonless so that it slides freely. This should eliminate the breakage that can occur from people putting their hand on it and pushing as they get out of the car.
If you look at their CAD software package it doesn't appear as it has the capability to generate 'free form surfaces' as 'professional' CAD packages can. Also if you look at the examples they are all pretty simple.

I think it's a good tool to make mounts but not parts of the dash board or something.
