Centerforce Clutches
Okay, I'm about to replace my clutch cause the dealership says that it's going bad. My philosophy is go big or go home so since I'm going to be eventually putting more and more power upgrades on my car would it be safe to go ahead and get the Dual Friction clutch kit and if so what flywheel should I get?

Remember that we have a very fragile transmission, a clutch that is too aggressive in terms of engagement will reduce your tranny like a lot.
There are different ways to make a clutch capable of high numbers but not all are the same in terms of engagement. Again, you should contact Charles since he told me about my tranny problems before i even had them, and now i have my transmission sitting around in the box

Okay, thanks for all the advice. I'm going to look into getting the BHR or Mazsport's then and if you wouldn't mind helping me find the right one that would be great. Thanks for the help!
Brandon, I made this same mistake 4 years ago in getting a clutch that was WAY overrated for the RX-8. Like a 600 h.p. clutch, and all it did was accelerate the wear of the clutch pedal bracket. That is how we have discovered them to be weak and failing. There are two options available to alleviate this issue and I encourage EVERYBODY to pursue either BHR's or Mazsport's offerings for clutch pedal assembly strengthening. Lest you think I am merely trying to sell you something you don't need, the problem I speak of is rampant and you can search it on this forum.
As for your clutch and flywheel, if you want to "go big" the BHR clutch and flywheel combo are the lightest rotating mass combo you will find without having to go with billet aluminum(expensive) and I can help match you up with the clutch that will serve your needs now and in the future. If you would like references, please contact "RX8Thunder" and "ssspeedfreak" as they both have BHR clutch/flywheel kits installed and they are driving them.

I know my experience with the centerforce clutches (on different vehicles) is that they lock up much harder. Sounds great, till you are driving in a parking lot looking like you have never driven a stick. Not sure how they are on the 8 though.

Hmmm...I had a dual friction on one of my RX-7s and it was flawless. Only thing I didn't like was their recommended break in period - which took way too much of my patience...

I can tell that according to my experience with broken gearboxes but i might be wrong as well

Well I defiantly wouldn't want to do anything to mess up other parts of my car. At the same time I do want to go ahead and upgrade this part of my car to be ready for the future upgrades that will be applied.

Harder lock up means shorter gearbox life in a fragile transmission. Ours is pretty fragile so i would prefer the softer-closer to stock engagment possible, especially on a hard driven car.
I can tell that according to my experience with broken gearboxes but i might be wrong as well
