Castor 927 premix?
I normally run Idemitsu but I'm out atm. Are any of these acceptable for premix? The Havoline is blue and TC W3 (whatever that means), and this castor 927 is what's popular among 2stroke off-roaders. I currently premix .75oz/gal in addition to the stock OMP. I have no cat so a lil extra smoke isn't a big deal for me. Thanks
Do not put castor oil, it can damage soft seals that aren't designed for it. It also loooves to polymerize in place you don't want it to.
TCW3 isn't harmful for short term use, but ideally you want JASO FD rating.
Idemitsu is expensive, there are plenty FD oils like Lucas semi-synth, Amsoil Interceptor, etc
meh, I dunno. On RX7Club you have people who say that and also people who used it for many years on super high HP without issue. But let’s, be honest, nobody here including me and Loki likely has any clue. I personally wouldn’t want to be driving on the street wafting the smell of castor into some cops nose. But then I also never agreed with being catless on a street RX8.
for Amsoil I would recommend SABER PRO over their other premix oils, but finding it locally is about as likely as finding Idemitsu. At 0.75/Gal it won’t smell much, maybe a little on start-up, but not once the engine is up to temperature. I ran it many years at 0.5/Gal without any issue with a cat converter.

Thanks! I did add about 5 gallons of gas and 1oz of the Castor oil mixed with 1oz of the Havoline premix. I had a couple gallons of gas already in the tank with idemitsu so hopefully it diluted enough to not harm anything. I am only catless bc it's not a daily driver and will only see weekend drift use once its tuned for the street port. Also Florida doesn't have inspections or emissions testing so that's a plus. However, I do have another RX8 that I'm rebuilding for a DD, and it WILL have a cat (and pistons)

short term meaning one tank shouldn’t hurt but you should use a JASO rated FC or FD 2 stroke oil. It’s clean burning will very little residue. TCW3 is for marine use and has to do with marine pollutants.

The guy who built my engine told me to run this:
maxima formula k2 racing premix. I just ordered a bottle as well as some idemitsu to see what arrives first

I thought asking questions is what this forum is about????? Seems that nobody, including you in your previous post, really knows which is best. I mostly run Idemitsu but wanted to know what others thought.
Obviously, this question gets asked quite frequently and I wanted to know others experience. This car isn't important to me and I dont mind trying things differently as long as it's not a guaranteed fail. I call it "learning"
If my engine builder thinks this is good premix, we will both see when it's time to rebuild again (which I will do myself, bc "learning" then turns to "experience") .
I recently got the kit from Blackstone Labs to have my oil tested once I break in this motor and clutch so hopefully I can get a scientific analysis on the engine by the summer.

There is no single best. There isn't even consensus that premixing is necessary. Just make sure it has FD rating, the ratings are focused on ash content and detergent qualities.
Also, to your point, lots of people have this question, which means there are lots of threads about this exact topic. You're not exactly breaking new ground here. Search and you'll see the above recommendation repeated. Make your own decisions with the available information about which brand suits you best.
Having been here for over 15 years I can assure you that the question has been asked and answered in numerous threads you couldn’t be bothered to have researched first.
Loki is correct - NO ONE HAS QUANTITATIVE EVIDENCE THAT PREMIXING on an RX8 Renesis engine increases longevity. We never will get that data unless a clinical test design is proposed and every car that participates starts off in the same place and has oodles of monitoring hardware installed in order to analyze metadata across drivers. It's all feel good and my STIHL 2-cycle tools would tell you that JASO Fx or ISO-G premix is better than the the TCW type 2-cycle oil.
I premix using the cheapest 2-cycle oil I can find that rated JASO-FD because I can afford it and I hope that it keeps my Renesis running better in its short lifespan. I also change my oil every 1000-1500K miles (not my daily driver) for that feel good feeling. I also use Premium unleaded for feel goodnessossity.
Feel good about your car, premix it. (BTW Citgo JT4 Sea and Snow *JASO-FD rated* is only $17/gallon at Fleet Farm).
