Check out the attached photos and see if you can identify the function of these components. There is one of these devices attached to the left front lower A arm (pics 1 & 2), and a similar device (pic 3) is connected to the rear lower suspension component on the same side.

While I was installing new sway bars the other day, I noticed these flimsy-looking gizmos and after a bit of digging in the shop manual, was able to identify their function. See if you can figure it out without looking in the manual.

 

So as not to spoil the quest for others,
I will just say -
the reason they are there is not obvious, it's hid.
