Bolt that holds coil broke off

I was working on my 2004 rx8 on Sunday and part of it was swapping out coils, plugs and wires to new. As I was installing the leading coil on rotor 1, I must have over tightened the nut as the tip of the bolt broke right off. So now, I have to get a new bolt but it looks like it is hard to get to on the other side. Does anyone know the size of the bolt for the coils? After driving it for 15 minutes, I checked and the coil was still in place but I do want to get it fixed.

I did a search and is the only fix to break off the rest of the bolt, drill a new hole and add a make shift bolt in the place?

It isn't that difficult to get on the other side of the OEM bracket to get to the bolt... unless it broke off on the T2 coil

I would try to do whatever you could to save the hole you already have in the bracket - drilling a new hole + shift bolt is a spectacular waste of your time and harder than just getting the broken bolt out.

Thanks guys. I think the bolt is intact enough for me to get out cleanly.. I'll try that first and make it easy on myself.

I always thought they were studs welded to the plate rather than bolts?
