Aftermarket Oil Cooler recommendations

What are some good brands for a shiny new oil cooler? (Literally, I want it to be shiny) ha.
Also My Rx8, 2004 AT only has one oil cooler and its on the driver side. I know the newer model rx8's have one on each side. Anyone know if its possible to mount two, functionally, on my model?
Thanks a lot!

That diagram is awesome.

The fittings need at the coolers (factory anyway) and the engine are M18 x 1.5. If you run custom lines (local hydraulic hose shop) you can easily add a secondary cooler.

Setrab is one of the best...they are pricey but very efficient compared to most others

I think with the 2 coolers, thermostat and the fittings and hose I was close to $1500...not a cheap undertaking ...

Not cheap at all unless you find decent used coolers. Long brand coolers are decent too, sometimes you can get them fairly cheap.

whats the point of doing something so expensive? Isn't anything practically better than stock? Especially if I run two?
I was looking at buying just like a pair of $150 (each) oil coolers off ebay.
Something like this: Universal 19 Rows Oil Cooler Kit Engine Transmission Oil+Oil Relocation Kit Row | eBay
call me cheap but I'm just wondering if theres anything wrong with that?

Brettus only runs one cooler and has not had an issue even turbocharged, he is using a stock passenger side oil cooler as a secondary radiator though IIRC. I think it depends on what you are doing with your car.

Right now oil temps are not an issue for me and my custom setup is working fine, even in this 100F+ weather. I am just redoing mine to clean things up a bit.

The stock oil coolers are decent and fine for most, Dannobre's car is on another level and track driven.

A kit like the one you linked fed from an oil filter adapter plate would work and would be an easy way to add a second cooler but with fittings and lines you don't wanna really cheap out, if you have a failure it could cost you big time.

*****. I wish I new something about oil coolers. I don't know what "fittings" are/what they do. I can make an educated guess that lines are what the oil goes through. Maybe an explanation from you, kind sir?

Fittings are the connection points that the hoses attach too and what screws into the block and coolers, AN fittings, JIC fittings, etc. Cheap aluminum fittings can break or leak pretty easily.

could I replace the stock cooler with the one I linked? add a twin, and just get better fittings?

I think all of the time spent on a upgrade is a waste of money. I ran a Fun Day in 98-104 degree day in 20 minute runs never really running under 6k rpm and bouncing 9k rpm all around the track and my oil temperature never went over 200 degrees and dropped after to 160 degrees and stayed during my cool down lap. Daily driving I stay around 180 degrees in busy traffic.

Start looking for a part out Rx8 or in my case started asking around and
found a complete set (both coolers and hoses) from a guy that was upgrading like 9k did.
Paid $300 for everything and sold the extra drivers side for $75.

Total cost $225.

Do you have an Auto 4 speed with one cooler? I can tell you when I push mine like you were I got much higher temps like 210-218. After the 2nd cooler install they came write down to 195-210 level.

I also want a nicer looking oil cooler because theyre very visible with the mint blue front end...
If I buy a second passenger OEM cooler, I wonder if I can get them both powdercoated or something...
