bogs out and stalls
well, here is my problem. on my way home with engine full warmed up i decided give it a good hard run. when i hit about 7500rpm in 2nd gear the car hesitated a bit and flashed a cel and than it went away after shifting to 3rd and pinning it. it continued to go smoothly through the gears to red line. so i slowed down to a complete stop and gave her hell again. same thing 2nd gear around 7500rpm the car hesitates than stalls right out. it felt as if i could give it gas but it didn't do much just a slow/low BAUGH BAUGH BAUGH sound than stall. this time the cel staying on.
car started back up fine. but did the same thing hesitation at around 7500rpm in 2nd gear almost stalling out before i switched into 3rd than it came back.
any ideas? bad cat? plugs? wires?

A similar thing happened to my 2004 with 52,000 on it. Took it to the dealer and they checked the codes, the flashing at 8000 was for a misfire. They tried to tell me that it was because the engine should not be run over 6500 RPM. 
I stood with my jaw down as the service manager told me that. The tech promptly revved the engine to 9.2k and held it at the fuel cut for a second to demonstrate that it was ok. Long story short they said there was a code for the rear O2 sensor as well. They replaced that and the problem and light went away for at least 6 months now. I'm not convinced that the problem is gone completely, it still feels a little off at 8000+.
That being said, the car lost power on me today as I was cruising at 45 in 3rd and a flashing CEL came on and stayed on. I drove about 3 blocks to a light and it stalled and died and would not restart after waiting 25 minutes for a tow I tried it again, it started, no codes, and drove straight for the dealer. Four more block the same thing happened and died. Tow truck came picked it up for the last mile to the dealer. Now I just have to wait until Monday.

coils, plugs and wires.
I replaced my coils about 17-19K miles ago. couple weeks ago I got some choke at high rpm. I have new plugs and wires, so it must be coils. Guess what, coils then came, replaced. no problems ever since.
This car is meant to be driven, HARD. but when you push something HARD. some stuff will break.
You guys really gotta do more maintenance if you want to enjoy this car. It sound like a pain but, I cant find any other car that can give me this kind of joy, so Im ok with it

As suggested by others here, my car needed 2 new coils. They pulled a code P0301 "Front rotor misfire" and through "pinpoint" test found 2 coils not firing on rotor 1 leading and trailing. Since the car was already there I had them take care of it and they got me out the door for $317, not too bad. They also did the MSP16 flash under warranty.
I will be ordering the other 2 coils and plugs and wires for a DIY day as those coils appear to be time bombs.
The car sure seems to be running well, I don't know if that was the coils or the MSP16, or both, but it I actually had to try to not break it loose in the rain on the way home.

Yes nycgps, but you already have the airbox out for your Perfomance Dual PVC Intake.
I don't like giving my hard earned money to the dealer either, but it was the matter of getting it back the same day or waiting for parts, installing in the parkingl lot in the rain, etc. Needless to say, I'm going to replace the other 2 coils and add plugs and wires myself.

Check out the MSD LS2 coil thread in the Aftermarket Performance Upgrade forum. It's just a matter of wiring up some connectors and replacing the stockers (which are failure prone). The LS2 coils are much beefier than stock and put out more voltage. I've had them on my car since Saturday and the car's running better than ever.

I will never, EVER put that kind of crap in my lovely 8. Maybe 1 day if I hate it so much I might try that, but not now lol !!!
Yeah, replace the other 2 yourself. Recession is here we gotta save some money !!
