big problem!! fuel cut??
ok i dont know the best way to explain this but here goes, after driving my car for a while, or letting it get hot, when i go to redline it hits some type of fuel cut were it just bogs down, but then when i let off the gas and get back on it its fine, if i keep driving it then i can barley get above 5 k rpms, even if im at partial throttle, it used to do this before and i took it to the dealer and they couldnt get it to do it again (guess my car wasnt hot enough not sure) so the gave me the latest flash and it hasnt done it, but then recently espicially after just puttin on the agency power pulley it started doing it again, i also have the k&n v2 intake and custom 3 inch exhaust (soon to be agency power exhaust), the funny thing is if i pull over and let the car cool off it takes a while to do it againg meaninin i can rip it for like 15 20 mins before it does it again, so the longer i let it cool down the longer it takes to do it again, really confused please help, by the way its a 04 with 48k miles on it, maybe a bad fuel pump/coils.....just changed my plugs and oil and every thing looked good, and now cels yet besides the one for no cat....help!!!

I think you think you hit redline, but in fact by the time you see redline you have already hit k rpm and hit the fuel cut off.
Your description matches what happens when you hit it.

Sounds like my problem, but without paragraphs!
My car would ONLY do it in the last 1/4 tank, then when it got hot, fast and lots of revs, it would start to get fuel starvation - bog down, misfire, slow down, then after you slow down it would be normal for a while.
I took a tech for a spin, out on the highway it wouldn't do it, he had the WDS laptop thing hooked up, but on the way back thru town to the dealers shop it slowed, misfired and finally quit right in the middle of the road. Tech says "no, no problem showing, no codes, it's OK." That's when I asked him could he help me push it to the side of the road........
New fuel pump, under warranty, never had a problem since.

i use premium, and i do have a 1/4 tank of gas in the car, and no im not hitting the fuel cut off, because after a while it will do it at 5k rpms, but like i said if i pull over and let it cool down it will be fine for a while, so coils or fuel pump, which one, and screw the dealership

fill up your tank..same thing was happenign to me today actually. happened 2 weeks ago so i changed plugs/coils/wires... today almost nearly the same place driving from college home it started to bog around 6k..like would not go any higher. agian had the 1/4 tank of gas. filled it up, beat on it, couldnt reproduce the bogging. so, fill up the tank, you should be alright.

well,
i would go with stealth and i are right.. had a similar issue. due to the fact that i had a 2k mile trip coming up.. i replaced the fuel pump and the coils... problem has not come back...
i still tend to think it was heat soak in the coils, but the problem is gone..
btw, you are still under warranty.. so why bother.

as to the dealer, it depends on them. with your attitude, my guess is it will be a struggle for you...

mine was not fuel level specific. it was time of driving.. as the coils got warm the the problem occurred.. turn car off for 10 min, it went away... being able to duplicate the problem is most important..

my fuel pump might be giving up, as Im getting misfires now if Im really low on gas (less than 1/4 tank) while cruising. even at around 4 K rpm I will get the misfire.
meh, maybe its time for me to try to replace the fuel pump myself. hope I dont kill myself in the process (or after the process)

to the people that note it as at 1/4 tank or less.. i was pondering this as i was driving tonight.. i recall the fuel pump starts pumping on high at 1/4 tank or less.. it might be heating up and shutting down..
let it cool off the cycle starts again..

Im thinking of changing it around 40K miles. I can probably make it like low low gas then whine at dealership to get them to change it ... meh. will see. Probably gonna change it when it hits 40K~ ish miles (now 38K)
Coils aint expensive. 27 each, about 110 bux u get all 4. takes 30 minutes TOPS to change it all.
