Lol same here, my dad and all my friends thought the same thing, it took forever to get it through their heads what octane actually meant. They thought higher octane meant more flammable so more power....they didn't get that the only way premium is beneficial is if your car is made for it. just goes to show that the common knowledge isn't always right.
