Hey guys, just recently i ended up on the side of the freeway with my alternator belt shredded. Had to get towed. Thing is, the belt showed no signs of dying prior to. No squealing noise or anything. Could this be a sign of another underlying problem? I checked the alternator and coolant pullies and they spin fine. No sign of seizing. This happen to anyone else?

 

They are a wear item...something to add to your replace every 3-4 years list
