I can't seem to get to the air filter easily. I loosened the clamp around the flex hose, poped the 2 clips, but found it very difficult to tilt the air cleaner cover enough to get at the filter. It would seem that the cover should come free to expose the filter but it barely tilts away. What's the secret? thanks, Craig

 

DIY Air Filter

 

You don't need to remove any clamps. Push on the front of the airbox until the 2 posts pop out of the rubber grommets then lift up slightly on the box to free it up from the 2 lower rubber grommets. The "accordian-like" pipe will collapse enough to allow the airbox to be pushed backwards.

When reinstalling the airbox, make sure that the lower rubber grommets are in place before pushing the lower posts down into them. If you have accidentally popped the grommets out, locate them and reinstall them before starting the car.
