Unhappy Advanced keyless entry problems

hi guys. i did a search and turned up nothing. i have an 06 MT equipped with the advanced keyless entry. yesterday i went to check my oil before i started my day today and noticed that it was good. ok so then today i go to start the car and it recognized my key, cranked for about 2 seconds and then just died. so i let it sit a minute an then tried again but then this time i couldn't even turn the **** on the ignition. so then i figured maybe the battery was dead so i got the backup key and i had the same problems with that one. so then i took out the spare key and tried that. i was able to turn the key but when it got to start the engine didnt fire and the instruments just swept through and went back to their zero readings. i checked to see if i had accidently disconnected something when i checked the oil but everything looked ok. do you guys think that maybe the battery in the car died or its something bigger. i have the car only 2 weeks so im not really sure what the problem can be. any help is much appreciated.

phantom i spoke to mazda today and they said that a short is what caused the problem. the only problem now is that they cant find where the short is so they will have to call up the big guys at mazda for some help.

A "short?" Sounds like a pretty generic term for "we don't know." Please keep us posted as if this should happen to anyone else, we'd know what to check. In other words, I'm using you as a guinea pig so I don't panic if my car acts up....

ok i finally got the car back today... they said that (1) fuse box was really loose and pulled out the wiring harness that was connected to the 120 Amp box. (2) 120 Amp fuse was blown. i'm kind of upset that it took them over a week to find and fix the problem but now the car's all better now.
