99,872 mile checkup..what a cryin shame...awww...
Original owner, have always been up front with any service or issues over the years, so I took it in today for the battery that was replaced in the starter/battery campain..thats been showing weakness lately. It failed...got that for free.
And I asked for comp test to see where I was going to be, headed off into the rotary horizon.
Failed, whatta shame.
kPa R1 R2 Acceptable Values
1 660 670 New: 830
2 720 660 Min: 680
3 660 630 Diff: 150
R 276 282
Terrible shame...
No questions, all smiles..this is the value of knowin your service guy, and doing the ez maintenance (fluids, etc) at the dealer. New motor on da way..
Have read too many stories about getting oil change/coolant receipts/etc..various associated BS when as a customer..you're an unknown value (even if thats wrong, thats how real life works).
Cant say ive noticed any down power, but I do struggle to get 225-235 out of a full tank of gas.

BHR flywheel is in my mind..stock disc is fine with me, never had any issues with it, its still the original one with no signs of advanced age at all.
I had MM work done about 33mo ago..I think, or was that the common 'tranny mount' issue.
Are NEW mounts 'different' or just 'new'.
Im also wondering, will they drop the tranny to do this? If so..god help me, id love to get in there and add some heat shielding under the tunnel...somehow I doubt that would happen.

hey guys i took my 2004 rx8 in on saturday and they told me that my engine had a miss fire, and that i had a lot of cardon build up, but the funny thing is that my car only has 56000 miles.
Do You think that i might be getting a new motor??????????

New motor because of one misfire? How do they know you have carbon build up without taking the motor apart?
The only way you'll get a new motor is if you fail a compression test and they don't do those for free (unless it fails, but you won't know until after the fact).
