75-90 or syncromax
about 5000 miles ago i chacnged my tranny fluid to royal purple syncromax and about 2 days ago it was making some weird noise when i downshift without revmatching. so today i took it to dealership n have them check it out
The sad thing is that when me n the tech guy test drove the car... it didnt make the noise i came in for... so i told him if he can just simply check my tranny fluid for me. so he jack the car up n got some of the fluid out n he was telling me how it's not the right tranny fluid ... it's too watery so he showed me the tranny fuid they put in the car n it was really thick. n he told me that i should change back to 75-90
my quiestion is i know that royal purple has 75-90 available. but which 1 is better? the 75-90 or the syncromax
the other question is that when he took out the tranny fluid he was showing me how there's some metal shavings not visible but under sun u can kinda see it reflecting in the tranny fluid and the syncromax is the the cause for that is that true? i thot it's normal to have some metal shavings...

From my experience metal shavings in a modern transmission is NEVER EVER normal. It's an indicator of damage. Unless you grind them, I'd agree that the root cause was the syncromax.

Yea, I would definitely switch to Maxgear. Did you tell the dealer you switched to synchromax? If so, is it documented on your invoice? If it's not documented on your invoice I would keep my mouth shut and say you use Maxgear all the time.
