I just left that dealership. They had the RX8club.com up on the screen in the showroom! So they have been listening in, and are most likely reading this message also.

I was there for another reason, but the screen caught my eye as I walked by - it somehow has this trance effect that draws you into it and makes you post messages!

No, not "VERY" common, but it has happened before to others.

yea my clutch just exploded on me too and i think my tranny is going like yours this car for me is just a car that doesn't like me but the dealer loves it, its like the car was built like this on purpose to have parts go out so the dealership could make money. and let me tell you if they think you drive it hard or beat on it forget about getting anything covered under warranty thats related to the first one when they said you drove it hard. they are doing that to me right now.

Last time when I was at my dealership for a service, after an inspection, the shop told me a part that has to do with the manual transmission on my 8 was on a factory recall. No one there was able to explain to me what it was for, but they had order the part in and scheduled to change it out under warranty. I wonder if something was faulty with the transmission on your 8 when it came out of the factory.

Which dealership was this? And do you know the part in question? Or better yet, what is your VIN# because there was a Dynamic Damper Recall that affected cars manufactured between April 10, 2003 through August 29, 2003. VIN#'s from JM1FE17**40100053 to JM1FE17**40116133.

This dealership is in Springfield, MO. All they've told me is that it is some kind of bracket for the transmission. My VIN# is between the range you've stated.
