Any bro can enlightened me. Is it true that the auto 8 has 4 ports while the manual 8 has 6 ports? And how does the ports work? Is it something like the honda vtec where the additional valves kicks in at high revs?

 

Air intake ports -- and the numbers are correct. 4 for auto & 6 for 6sp.

 

in the US that is correct for now. In Japan the standard power or 4 port engien can be had with the 4AT or a 5MT. In most other countries the standard power engine is available only as a 5MT. For the for the US (and Canada) 2006 model year the 4port engien has been dropped and so has the 4AT. They are replaced by a 6AT mated to a limited to 7500rpm Hi-power/6port engine.
