2009 steering wheel on 2004

hey I have an interesting question guys.

I like how the newer 09' steering wheels look. Do you think I could just take one of those and just pop it on replacing my 04' steering wheel? I don't care about the wiring, I could figure that out myself pretty easily. I just wanted to know the actual steering will work.
Thanks in advance guys

I think they have the same geometry as an 04 and above. The only difference is the steering wheel look.

The new style for the steering wheel was one of the big criticisms about the Series 2 interior, and I would say it's deserved.

Not sure why you would want one...

Whats wrong with the updated one? I think it looks much better than the old steering wheel.

I don't care for the s1 red/black wheel but I think the black leather s1 wheel looks better than the s2 one.... But that's just my opinion.

Yea I wasn't even considering the outside of the wheel, I just like how the inside looks.

I like the look of my black & tan wheel on my S1. The new one looks like its got no soul. Like it was made by Honda.

^ Black and Tan? Pics?

Thats kinda how I feel about the s2 wheel too, like it doesn't belong in a rx8.

New = Dust collector and hard to keep clean.
I prefer my S1 completely black leather one.

I hate to resurrect a dead thread but did any of you ever do this? I want to do this but want to know it the audio, cruise, and other switches still work if you do this swap.
