As I recall Mazda was advertising 0-60 MPH times of in the mid 5 second range till two car mags (Car & Driver and Motor Trend) were able to get to 5.9 seconds. They launched the car at a scarey 7,000 RPM though to get 5.9 seconds.

Has anyone measured this on their car and what are you getting ?

 

I launched at 8,000 rpms at sort of a rolling, (slowed to 4 to turn to get on the interstate) start. Just kind of bounced it up there, didn't do a clutch drop but as I revved it that high I just eased it out. Now anyone saying this car lacks torque has obviously not done this, it pinned me back and I was to 60 in no time, didn't clock it but what a rush, hit 60 in 2nd and the tach was at 7k + after shift, didn't hear the buzzer because stereo was cranked.

This car is so much fun.
